Captain Mike Murray

I was born and raised in Gulfport, Florida, a small fishing town minutes from Boca Ciega Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

From a young age, fishing has been a part of my life, whether it was sneaking in a quick cast before school or spending entire days on the water during summer break. Growing up around boats and the water, I developed a deep passion for the sport.

When I relocated to Land O'Lakes, Florida as a teenager, my focus shifted to bass fishing, where I also began entering tournaments. This journey not only honed my skills but also instilled in me the importance of patience on the water and the effective use of artificial lures.

After high school I moved to Tampa, Florida, where I attended college to become a Firefighter/Paramedic.  I have been a professional Firefighter/Paramedic since 1998 and am currently assigned to Tampa Fire Rescues fire boat "The Patriot", a 69 ft. Firestorm model.  My schedule at the fire department allows me to spend a lot of time on the water and keep up on where the fish are.

Along with charters, I also fish in tournaments.  I specialize in chasing redfish and fish in a monthly redfish tour.

With my experience in the Fire Department and my passion for charter fishing, I truly believe I have the best of both worlds. Spending my time on boats and in the beautiful waters brings me immense joy, and I aim to share that experience with you during our charter. Being outdoors and enjoying the water is my life's passion, and I hope to make it yours too while we are together. I recognize that there are many outstanding guides in the Tampa Bay area, and I understand that choosing the right one can be challenging.
